Allied Health Building
LAKE WASHINGTON INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
KIRKLAND, WA
The Allied Health Building is home to career training programs in Nursing, Dental, and Medical fields as well as Washington State’s first Funeral Service Education Program. The first Washington Network for Innovation Careers (WaNIC) high school skills center is also co-located in this three-story facility. Achieving LEED™ Silver certification the design incorporates medicinal and healing plants that reflect the Allied Health Building’s academic programs and that support the Environmental Horticulture program. The waiting areas, gathering spaces, and outdoor terraces anchor the building to the surrounding landscape where rows of shrubs planted parallel to the contour lines of the site’s slope continue the horizontal lines of the building’s façade.
