1600 7th Plaza
Seattle, WA
HBB provided the landscape and urban design elements of a new and accessible entry plaza to an existing office tower in downtown Seattle. After removal of declining and diseased deciduous trees, the space was opened up inviting sun into the north facing plaza. Vegetated landscape berms reduce the visual size of the prominent, retaining walls and an accessible ramp provides a connection from the sidewalk to the building’s new retail space and a terrace overlooking the landscape. The planting design provides year-round interest and integrates areas for changing seasonal displays of annual plants.
